Solo Exhibit at The Pump House Center for the Arts - August 3 through August 31

I’ve been waiting for about 16 months to share this post. No, really, I got the call from the Pump House in 2022 asking if I wanted to do a show in August 2023 and though I wasn’t ready to fill a gallery and my inventory was low, I said, yes.

The last several months have been chaos to say the least. I was pushing the podcast in a busier direction, I took a promotion at my regular job, and I knew I really didn’t have time to make 35 paintings in one year.

I did what anyone in my boots would do, I simply cut out a lot of other things. No more commissions, I said no to a lot of social events, I made a plan to paint and draw constantly, and I almost burned out.

Getting ready for the show wasn’t hard to plan, it was just hard to execute. It was like life itself became too busy to make art. So, I stopped making YouTube videos too, then I started to procrastinate like all artists do. This was the first indication I was getting burned out and started to question my decision.

Nonetheless, I finished up some work, started framing and varnishing work that was ready to show, and managed to get 35 pieces ready for the exhibit. As much as I hope you get to see these pieces in the gallery, I know some of you just can’t make it to the show. So I created a gallery for you - Click this link:

I still have much to do and I am delivering the art tomorrow so I better get away from the computer and get work done. I will blog more about the exhibit soon, but I couldn’t wait to share this news with you. I hope to see you at the opening reception if you can make it. I also have plans to have a meetup at Old Capital Brewing for a few tasty drinks after the reception - an “after party” if you will.
